A silver 10 cents coin dated 1939 9mm in diameter. It bears the head of George VI
Historic Context:
The 1939 10 cents coin was of particular interest when considered within the context with the site. The POW’s were paid 10 cents a day to work on the Shinto Shrine. The wage was a vital source of funds by which prisoners could supplement their diet. The loss of this coin would have been a major disappointment to the owner.
