Other Description:
Unusual stud was found at the west end of the garden approximately four metres from the full Arisaka round. This was most likely used to attach an adjustable leather belt or strap. It resembles the stud found on the side of Japanese soldiers ammunition boxes.
Historic Context:
Japanese equipment was primarily held together with limited metal work as such resources were at a premium. Studs similar to this held the lid of the ammuniton box in place
