Other Description:

Item 003/007/012 Japanese fuse head found in Transect 7 (left) is similar to an item catalogued under Survey 16 (right) and has the same distinct markings seen on the latter.

Historic Context:

The discovery of the Japanese fuze indicates that the garden was under sheel fire and that the British presented a suitable tactical target to warrant a mortar barrage of the site
