Other Description:
A more unusual item to be discovered was what appeared to be a ceremonial or decorative bell shaped as the face of a frog. Careful cleaning revealed the features including eyes, a gaping mouth and two horizontal raised bands around the width of the shell. One side was badly eroded but the top side revealed fine detail
Historic Context:
Such a bell would have many uses however one tenant pointed out that his dog wore one on his collar to stop him catching birds.
