Other Description:

Item 20/07/11 was relatively large and similar to other shell fragments found around the estate that have been identified as 60mm HE mortar rounds. However this item had no inscription only a machined hatching halfway down the external face

Historic Context:

The lack of any visible inscriptions suggest this is a Japanese fuse and indicative of the area being shelled during the fighting
