This pennant belonged to Lt Col Carpenter OC 1st Battalion Cambridgeshires. The Cambridgeshire's regimental badge is hand painted onto blue canvas.

Historic Context:

There is no evidence to say that this item was carried by Carpenter in Singapore but it is not unknown for the Battalion HQ to fly a pennant outside the HQ building to facilitate easy recognition. If so this pennant may well have been flown outside the front of No.7 Adam Park
