Other Description:
The most impressive coin, found adjacent to the syringe and pip at No.10 Adam park , was a pristine silver South African Shilling dated 1940.
Historic Context:
The coin had most likely been picked up when the Cambridgeshire Regiment had passed through Capetown on their way to Singapore. Probably a memento the coin may have been lost when the owner of the pip and syringe had emptied out his pockets at the time of surrender.
