Historic Context:
Pte George Aspinall served with 2/30 battalion AIF and was captured during the fall of Singapore. he had a passion for photography and was able to keep his camera with him as he moved around the camps. George and his camera spent the first month of the captivity working on the Shrine Job and living at 11 Mount Pleasant Drive. He was able to wonder freely and took a series of images depicting life in the workcamp.
