The Royal Engineers war diary makes reference to the location of a 9th Royal Northumberland Fusiliers Machine Gun unit being located on the wooded hill to the east of Thomson Road opposite the junction with the Mount Pleasant Road. This would suggest that the machine gun team was located on the hill which is now partially within the grounds of the St Joseph's International Institute
