A short history of the Cambridgeshire Regiment was produced as part of the celebrations and memorial service held in Cambridge in November 1945 to commemorate the return of the men from the Far East. The document (13.5cm x 21.5cm) consists of 8 pages in four sheets. The final page entitled 'Immediate Awards for Gallantry, Etc has been annotated in freehand, presumably by Sgt Moore, with details of the additional awards and those men 'Mentioned in Despatches' . The inner page has been signed by 'L J Starr' (5835545 Pte L J Starr 1st Battalion) and 'E W Phillips' (6020985 L Cpl E W Phillips 1st Battalion). The document was printed by W Heffer & Sons Ltd of Cambridge
Historic Context:
The Cambridgeshires returned from the Far East to a great celebration. A parade and ceremonial granting of the freedom of the city was arranged. This programme was issued as part of that commemoration.
